Hello Pilots!
We are organizing a trip to Piedrahita, Spain for the Iberian Open.
Start June 24, End July 2, 2016; 9 days total.
www.parapentectnp.com/…/open-fai-ii-open-iberico-liga-nacio…
Our trip will begin with the arrival in Madrid 2 days before the start of the competition so that we have the opportunity to partake in the competitors preparations, such as GPS Turnpoint downloads, planing the course of flight, and training flights.
Then for the first 2 to 3 days of the competition we will watch until "windows is closed", and then fly a bit of the Task, or we will start prior to the open window.
We will have 2 medium sized cars and the first and second pilots on the ground will be our drivers and retrievers. They will need to get back to the cars wherever they are parked if we are not able to ride up with the competition organization. Then all of our participants, starting from the closest, will be retrieved.
It is important that each of us have a modern cellular phone with "WhatsApp" installed and capable of sending data in Spain so that each person can send their location To our WhatsapP Group when they Have Landed. A 2 m radio is also required equipment. In Addition We Will be Using Loctome For Live Tracking. Please Also Install the Loctome APP on your Phone. Claudio Has Already Set up our Loctome "Girls Fly Spain" Group it is As Follows:

pilots wishing to Be competitors in the Iberian Open must Register themselves At the "iberian Open" Site.
On this trip I will be the guide, translator and "wind dummy", as well as driver at times so that you can fully concentrate on your flying. Rosco, my dachshund, will accompany us as well. As a prior competitor I know this area by heart.
Our Base will be The House "CASA LA CIGÜEÑA" Located in PesQuerA just 5 min from Piedrahita on the way to takeoff. here we will Stay for the 9 Days.

From here we will take Day trips to other flying areas, going where the weather looks best for Flying.
Attractions in the area include Avila with its city wall, the university town of Salamanca, and Segovia close to Arcones.
We will keep our group small, around 8-10 pilots, so that we can work well together. Our goal for the group, as the name says "girls-fly-Spain", is to gather a group of women pilots together, but should space allow, men are also welcome.
These are currently ideas In Progress, but we must decide early in order to be able to book accommodations, rental cars, and flights. Because all Aspects of the Trip Have not yet been booked, an Exact price is not yet available. A likely amount is between 450 and 500 Euros for the 9 days starting at madrid and covering the price of your Guide Suby, Lodging, Cars and Gas.
